The Lazarus Centre Donor Report

Supporting The Homeless

2022 started well, as COVID restrictions were finally lifted, and from February we were able to welcome our homeless clients back to receiving a proper breakfast on site at the Parish.

Unfortunately, once the Hall roof works commenced we had to move temporarily from St Peter’s to St Mark’s for the duration of the works.

By the end of May, all activities will resume at St Peter’s with important improvements.

From the time we return, breakfast will be served in the main hall, rather than the Hughes Room.

Access to the main hall has many advantages, including reduction of risk of COVID transmission and a more welcoming experience that will give our clients a feeling of belonging and being valued community members.

It will also provide a more appropriate setting for case management and counselling by the professional social worker that we hope will join our team in months to come.

For the first time, this will enable to provide the Centre with the tools needed to really make positive change.

The Lazarus Centre is open 365 days a year and remains the only CBD facility providing breakfast to the homeless.
