The Trustees

 

As a registered charity, the St Peter’s Charitable Foundation is overseen by a highly capable and experienced team of trustees, representing a diverse set of skills and backgrounds from commercial law, environmental engineering, social enterprise, international finance to cultural philanthropy.


Patron of the foundation: Primrose, Lady Potter

Lady Potter is a founding trustee of the St Peter's Eastern Hill Melbourne Charitable Foundation. She stepped down in 2015 and has chosen to retain her involvment in the capacity of Patron.

Lady Potter is a philanthropist and has been Director and Victorian Chairman of the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust 1989-91; Director of the Bell Shakespeare Company 1990-91; Trustee of American Friends of the National Gallery of Australia since 1989; National President of the Australian Ballet Special Events Committee 1993; member of the Howard Florey Institute; member of the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research; Director of the Ian Potter Museum of Artfrom 1999; and Life Governor of the Ian Potter Foundation. She was founding Honorary Patron of the Melba Foundation, Founding Patron of the Victorian Opera Company, and Patron of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art. Lady Potter has also raised funds for The Smith Family, the St Vincent de Paul Society, and the AIDS Council.


Chair: Krystyna Campbell-Pretty AM

Krystyna is a retired researcher and management consultant who is now focussed on philanthropy.

She is a Trustee of the National Gallery of Victoria and also sits on the NGV Foundation Board.

In addition, Krystyna is a member of the Melbourne University Humanities Foundation Board and Co-Chair of ACMD, an important bio-medical engineering initiative of St Vincent’s Health Australia.

While culture is an important part of her philanthropic focus, within this her particular passion is improving access to both visual and performing arts amongst disadvantaged children.

She has been a parishioner of St Peter’s Eastern Hill for 4 years.

Krystyna has two daughters and two grandchildren and is a committed walker, gardener and Francophile.


Trustee - Fr Michael Bowie

Fr Michael Bowie comes to St Peter’s with a passion for pastoral priestly ministry, worship and witness in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, including its commitment to social mission and justice. He loves being city centred, grounded in the daily offering of the Mass and the sacramental life. His training and experience have all been focused on excellent liturgical worship enhanced by fine music and thoughtful, accessible preaching.

He believes that the Church, like the Gospel, is personal, local and particular for the gathered community. Because of his understanding that the Word of God is a person and not a book, and his having exercised priesthood in diverse congregations, he is committed to the principle of presence, listening and engagement as being the key to growth in Christian community.

In 2022, Fr Michael celebrated his 30th year of ordained priesthood, on 27th June. He was born in Sydney and studied for a BA at Sydney University. This was followed by a DPhil inLatin Literature at Oxford University, and a degree in Theology, again at Oxford. He was ordained priest in the Diocese of Rochester in 1992 by the Bishop of Tonbridge.

Fr Michael a founding member of the Sodality of Mary, Mother of Priests, a strong network of theological and spiritual encouragement for male and female Catholic-minded clergy; Archbishop Stephen Cottrell is their patron.Since 2014,Fr Michael has been Associate Vicar of All Saints Margaret Street in London.


Trustee - Michael Gronow

Michael is a barrister practising in general commercial law including insolvency. He is also the lecturer and subject co-ordinator of the ‘Insolvency Law’ subject at the University of Melbourne Law School, and the author of works about insolvency law, including bankruptcy and company liquidation.

He is married to Sharon, has two children (Miranda and Christian) and lives in North Fitzroy. He enjoys reading, listening to music, cycling and sailing. He and his family have been parishioners at St Peter’s Eastern Hill since the early 1990s.

He has been the honorary secretary of the Melbourne Anglican Trusts Corporation, and is a former winner of the Victorian Bar’s pro bono award.


Trustee - Ingrid van Dijken

Ingrid has more than 20 years’ experience in private banking and senior management roles both in Switzerland and Australia. She is currently Chief Operating Officer at IP Generation, a boutique funds manager based in Melbourne. In addition she is a non/executive director of Terragen, an agricultural biotechnology company.

Ingrid was a non-executive director of Escala Partners, a private wealth management firm, from December 2015 till March 2019.

She worked at the Impact Investment Group (IIG) as the Chief Operations Officer & Head of Investor Services from early 2014 till September 2018. During these years she was instrumental in driving IIG’s transformation from a start-up to a medium sized funds management business.

Prior to joining IIG in 2014, Ingrid managed the UHNW segment of NAB Private Wealth in Victoria and was a member of the State Leadership team. Ingrid worked for more than twelve years in Private Banking in Switzerland. This included eight years at Union Bancaire Privee (UBP) before moving to Australia. UBP, an innovative Geneva headquartered private bank, is a major player in the Swiss wealth-management industry and ranks among the most strongly capitalised banks in Switzerland.


Trustee - Paul McConville

Paul has 25 years’ experience in executive managerial roles at renowned International and Domestic hospitality establishments. Paul is the Chairperson and Director of Kinfolk Enterprise; a Melbourne based social enterprise and registered donation gift registry. Kinfolk Enterprise has been trading for 7 years and over this period, has developed three profitable social enterprise business units; kinfolk café, kinfolk catering and donkey wheel house events. Paul began his hospitality career as a qualified chef in the UK, arriving in Australia in 1986 as Executive Chef of Michaels riverside restaurant.

In 1995 he became the General Manager of a successful Sydney 4 star Hotel, over the next 15 years Paul executive hospitality managerial roles in Sydney, Adelaide, Coffs Harbour and returning to Melbourne in 2003. Coming back to Melbourne, Paul joined Grand Hotel Melbourne “managed by Sofitel” in an executive role, to lead operational improvement programs.

Paul’s passion for business and social hospitality enterprise, has seen his passion drive growth within Kinfolk Enterprise, with its second hospitality social enterprise site opening in North Carton in mid 2018. Paul is a husband, father, grandfather and enjoys reading and spending time with his wife Lucinda and their family & their 3 year old golden retriever.


Trustee - Katie Richardson

Katie Richardson is an environmental consultant, specialising in the assessment of risks associated with land contamination. She is a passionate advocate for protecting health and the environment, and an empathetic communicator of risks to communities affected by contamination.

Katie has extensive experience volunteering her time for not-for-profit associations, including for the Australian Contaminated Land Consultants Association (ACLCA) for which she currently serves as chair or the risk assessment focus area, and was previously president of the association, with responsibility for financial management and assessment of funding requests. Katie is a keen singer with several choirs across Melbourne, and has been a dedicated member of the choir at St Peter’s Eastern Hill since 2011.
